Nice day for a random, 12-mile bike ride

I’m on vacation this week, trying to catch up on yardwork and enjoy the outdoors. But the weather has been generally lousy — lots of heavy rain, high winds, blustery cold air.

Today, we finally got a break, with temps in the 60s and clear skies. So I grabbed my bike and headed for an outdoors adventure.

I had a general idea of riding my bike to Fort Ben, about eight miles away. But I changed my mind about halfway there, due to lots of high water and heavy traffic.

I decided to just randomly ride around the area and see what spring hath wrought.

My route consisted of quiet back roads, a few main streets, a paved bike trail and little bit of this and that.

I took my camera. Here’s some of what I saw.
